Caring for Your New Container Tree!

Congratulations on your new tree from Adcock’s Nursery.  Cared for properly, your new tree will provide a lifetime of shade and enjoyment for you and your family. 

            Your new tree came with a 20-gallon Tree Gator bag, which is designed to help you keep it watered properly.  It’s very important that your new tree get enough water, especially during its first four weeks.

            While at Adcock’s Nursery, your tree was being grown in a 45-gallon container.  During the summer growing months, our 45-gallon trees receive 8.5 gallons of water per day on our drip irrigation system.  During fall and winter this volume is reduced significantly.

            USING TREE GATOR

·         Using garden hose, begin filling bag through opening under label

·         When bag is ¼ full, stop filling and lift up on black straps to flatten bottom

·         Resume filling until full

·         Bag will slowly drain watering roots for 5 to 9 hours

·         For trees planted May-September, fill bag every 3 to 4 days

·         For trees planted October-April, fill bag once per week
