This is a compact, slow-spreading, deciduous shrub that features spikes of fluffy, white wonderfully fragrant flowers which attract hummingbirds and butterflies. It has dark glossy green leaves which turn a striking yellow in autumn. After flowering seed capsules remain through winter to add interest to any landscape. It is a great addition to small gardens and fits perfectly around foundations. It prefers medium to well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
