A more winter-hardy deciduous shrub with creamy and slightly fragrant yellow flowers, this interesting Butterfly Bush is a departure from the regular pink through dark violet varieties. A long-blooming plant that flowers from late spring in the NC Piedmont through fall, it prefers average, well-drained soil in full sun. Try to avoid wet areas and shade, since it can become leggy. Deadhead flowers to encourage additional blooms. It will attract butterflies but like other butterfly bushes, it is not a host plant for caterpillars.
