Emperor I is similar in color, leaf structure, and growth habit to the Bloodgood Japanese Maple. However, it holds its red color better throughout the summer and has a brilliant crimson-red color in the fall. It leafs out later than a Bloodgood thus lessening the chance of frost damage. It makes a great specimen plant. Does require some afternoon shade.

LOW GRAFTED
A beautiful lace-leaf Japanese Maple. It is one of the oldest cultivars of green dissectums. Slow-growing, cascading, mounding habit. Intense light green leaf color all summer. Good fall color of golden-yellow with tints of red. To avoid sun damage to foliage, plant where it can get some afternoon shade. Compliments the red varieties of Japanese maples very well.
