Nellie R. Stevens Holly is a large shrub with a dense, conical form but can also be trained into a small tree. Its glossy, dark green leaves have spiny serrated margins. Produces red berries which ripen in fall and persist into winter. Use in the landscape as a foundation plant, hedge or prune into a specimen tree form. Thrives in medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade.
