Brandywine Red Maples are native, deciduous shade trees that are as handsome as they are big. With a rounded crown and branches reaching a 25' to 40' spread, they are easy to grow in average, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. Tolerant of many soil types, including clay, they prefer moist, slightly acidic conditions. They're very cold-hardy, and grow fairly fast, also tolerating harsh urban conditions.
Brandywines are more heat-tolerant, and are male cultivars that have no seeds. In early fall, leaves turn a show-stopping brilliant red. Brandywines make an excellent lawn, park, or street tree.

A smaller growing maple can be used as a shade tree or a street tree. Dark green leaves in summer change to a vivid red fall color that lasts about two weeks. Medium-growing upright tree, with an ovate crown.
