One of the 'Little Girl' Hybrid series. Jane is a deciduous magnolia where the deep purple buds open to white flowers making for a two tone effect. Blooms occur mostly in early spring before the leaves emerge, than sporatically through summer and into the fall. This is a perfect plant to use as a specimen, foundation, shrub border or in a woodland garden. Prefers moist, well-drained loamy soil in full sun to part shade.

Sweetbay magnolia is also called swampbay, or swamp magnolia. This tree is often grown as an ornamental landscape tree because of its attractive foliage, flowers, and fruit. It occurs naturally in moist and wet soils in wetland areas such as swamps and along streams and ponds. Sweetbay magnolia is a medium, semi-evergreen tree that grows with an open crown of sparsely spreading branches and is deciduous in the north. The flowers are fragrant, showy, creamy-white blossoms that are visible in late spring and early summer. They are similar to but smaller than southern magnolia blossoms. Use as a specimen, or focal point small tree. Hardy from zones 5 to 9. Native to the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts of the Eastern United States
