Autauga has arching branches which produce dark purple flowers. The flowers are tight and compact and bloom from July to September. The foliage has a bronze tent in spring which turns bright green in summer and orange-red in autumn. This crape myrtle is great as a specimen, along walkways, or used in masses for a bold effect. It Is often planted as a street tree or in public parks. Thrives in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun.

*** LIMITED *** A small flowering tree, Catawba has long-lasting dark purple flowers that appear in the late summer. With bronze-colored new leaves in the spring, its brilliant orange-red fall color, coupled with its interesting smooth bark makes for great year-round interest. It can be trained as a single trunk. but its tendency is toward a multitrunked habit. It has been bred to be mildew resistant. Pruning should be completed in winter or early spring, as this plant blooms on new wood.
