Named after N.C. State University's outstanding women's basketball coach, Kay Yow, Kay's Early Hope Redbud has bright pink flowers that form on the stems in early spring and last for about two to three weeks. This redbud thrives in full sun to part shade and drives a taproot deep into the ground, so best to know where you want to put it. With heart-shaped leaves, Kay's Early Hope makes a great understory tree and is perfect for a shrub border or natural area.
